Read Across America Week/Barnes and Noble Book Fair

Sunday, February 28     The book fair begins at the Polaris Barnes and Noble store. Show the cashier your school voucher before completing your purchase, so the sale is counted for Glen Oak.
Monday, March 1           ”Read Across Glen Oak” Students will record their favorite book titles and stories on red and white strips of paper in an effort to connect all the hallways together.
Tuesday, March 2          Celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday with your favorite Dr. Seuss hat. Bring a book to school also as we will be participating in “Stop, Drop, and Read”. Students will stop, drop and read throughout the day when the “stop, drop, and read” announcement is made.
Wednesday, March 3      Come to Barnes and Noble this evening to shop the book fair (there’s a late start on Thursday morning), listen to Glen Oak teachers read stories in the children’s department and the 3rd graders will perform musical numbers from “Seussical the Musical”.
Thursday, March 4          If you missed the evening event, go to breakfast and visit the book fair before heading to school. There’s a late start today!
Friday, March 5               ”My Favorite Book Character” dress-up. Students come to school dressed (appropriately) as their favorite fiction or nonfiction book character.

Mystery Readers will visit the library throughout the week to share their favorite picture books with students. Ask your student whom they meet during their library visit this week.

McDonalds – Wednesday, March 3rd
